Brown Bear

On a recent circle tour of the Kootenay's I drove up from Nelson, past New Denver, Nakusp and spent the night at the Windsor Hotel in Trout Lake. The Lardeau River flows into the west end of Trout Lake and exits on the east end and empties into the north end of Kootenay Lake. I was hoping to see the Gerrard Trout at the bridge crossing the Lardeau River but might have been a little late in the year. The Gerrard Trout are usually spawning in early May. However a little bear did cross our path and was very photogenic. Thank you little bear. Is it a black bear or a grizzly?
